General Liability Program
The General Liability (GL) Program provides coverage to $40 million per occurrence for general and automobile liability, and public officials’ errors and omission. CIRA self-funds coverage up to $1 million, while losses that exceed this amount are covered under the excess general liability program through Public Risk Innovation, Solutions, and Management (PRISM). Participants self-insure a portion of each loss through the selection of a self-insured retention (SIR)/deductible, with options ranging from $5,000 to $1,000,000. Regardless of the option selected, CIRA provides its members with proactive claim oversight and litigation management by working closely with each Member and the third-party claims administrator, George Hills.
