Program Funding Policies
General Liability and Workers’ Compensation Program Funding Policies define the funding requirements for the self-insured programs, covering key elements such as: prospective funding confidence levels, minimum overall confidence levels, target equity, rate stabilization, equity distribution, and financial benchmarks.
Deductible/Self-Insured Retention (SIR) Adjustment Policy – Every three years, CIRA reviews the appropriateness of each member’s deductibles/SIRs based on several evaluation points. While a member’s request to lower their deductible/SIR requires approval from the Board of Directors, members may increase their deductibles/SIRs at any time.
